Locavore on Linden, Part Deux

A great big thank you to all who attended Geneva’s Medley on Linden last night. The Locavore booth had a fine turnout. Folks loved Holly’s home-made bread, which served as the vehicle through which to taste the olive oils and salts.

We got a good sense of what kinds of flavors interest people, and it was exciting to see that they enjoyed comparing the flavors of different culinary treats as much as we do. One person joked that she wasn’t above drinking olive oil straight out of the bottle, while the saltivores sampled the salts straight up, with no chaser! Everyone seemed genuinely excited to try different oils and salts, and their enthusiasm means a lot to us, especially considering that other vendors were admirable competitors, offering samples such as lobster bisque by Chef John McNabb of Knapp Vineyard Restaurant, and Atwater Vineyards Bubble Riesling. We met a lot of wonderful people, and we’re looking forward to seeing your smiling faces once the store opens in mid-September.

Thanks again to Holly Rine for her rustic wheat berry bread, and to Kristin Reinhart Photography for this amazing shot of Linden Street.

Linden Street B&W

It was a pleasure to participate in this event, which raised money for the lovely gem that is The Smith Opera House in Geneva. Keep a lookout for upcoming events at The Smith, such as its screening of Dirty Dancing on September 1st!!!

Cheers!!
